Fair Minded: The LegallyMinded Code of Conduct
LegallyMinded is intended to provide an online community and knowledge
resource that benefits the entire legal profession. We believe that our
profession can accomplish great things when we work together. Therefore, we ask
that all LegallyMinded members observe the following community conduct
standards:
1. Respect Each Other.
Members can interact through a
variety of public and private channels, such as blogs, private messages, and
discussion groups. We encourage vigorous debate and freely exchanged opinions:
That's part of the fun of belonging to a community. However, we draw a line at
personal attacks or abusive language. Inappropriate comments may be removed, and
abusive behavior may result in account cancelation. Please report issues to:
2. Follow Members' Contact Preferences.
Each member has
the opportunity to describe how (and for what purposes) he or she wishes to be
contacted by other members. Please respect these wishes. Unwanted advertising or
spamming is prohibited.
3. Cite Work Appropriately.
We look forward to hearing
your opinions via site features such as the community blogs and wiki spaces. But
if you quote from somebody else's work, make sure to credit them. In addition,
beware of copyright infringement. If you don't own the rights to an article,
don't post it.
4. Contribute Knowledge, Not Promotion.
You can draw on
your experiences when composing a blog post, but kindly avoid drifting into
self-promotion. Likewise, when contributing to the wiki areas, please don't
drive traffic to sites for your own personal or professional gain. These areas
exist to build a collaborative knowledge base, not to benefit any individual.
5. Upload Wisely.
LegallyMinded allows you to share
files, such as vCards, Word documents, and images, via your profile or
discussion groups. Please refrain from uploading inappropriate or copyrighted
materials. They will be removed from the site, and repeated violations may
result in account cancelation.
6. One Person, One Profile.
Currently, LegallyMinded only
allows profiles for individuals, not companies. In addition, if you choose to
include a profile, please use a photograph only, rather than an avatar,
corporate logo, or other image.
Additional information is available on the site's
Terms of Use page.
